Nutcracker & Nutcracker Suite 2023

We had another great year of Nutcracker! Our second annual Nutcracker Suite took place on December 8th at The Community House in Hinsdale, where we proudly brought together residents of the western suburbs and beyond for a magical evening. Delicious snacks, drinks, and crafts proceeded an abbreviated Nutcracker performance by our dancers and local children. We even had a celebrity appearance by Santa himself!

Our main-stage performances took place the 22nd and 23rd at Hinsdale South’s newly renovated auditorium. The weekend was warm and festive and the crew at Hinsdale South worked alongside our dancers, faculty and staff to make this our best year of performances yet.

We added a few scenes to our production, including a beautiful Snow Pas de Deux, and upgraded our backdrops to animated projections. Four guest artists joined us from The Florida Ballet (where WSBC Founding Director, Kyle Seguin, is also Director of Education), adding more beauty and grace to the weekend both onstage and off. One of our dancers, Evelyn P, danced her first Sugar Plum and was absolutely gorgeous.

The weekend concluded with a cast party graciously hosted by one of our families.
