Nutcracker 2021

The Nutcracker was West Suburban Ballet Conservatory’s first production and we worked non-stop to put it all together from scratch in only a few months. We did several local community engagement performances the weekends leading up to our four main-stage performances at The Reber Center Auditorium in La Grange. All new choreography by WSBC Founding Director Kyle Seguin told a slightly abbreviated version of the original story, danced mostly by our thirteen Conservatory dancers, along with a handful of community cast members. Like any good production, we had to overcome some obstacles along the way, teaching resilience and creating great memories. Most costumes were built by Head of Wardrobe, Suzanne Augustyn. Others were refurbished from Joffrey Ballet’s classic production or built by collaborators. Props Master, Diane Giltner created standout pieces to compliment the choreography and Midwest Event Solutions helped bring all the elements together for a smooth run. Special thanks to our faculty, staff, volunteers, and supporters!
