UBC Grand Prix Finals 2022

Universal Ballet Competition held their first ever Grand Prix Finals in Jacksonville, FL and it was the perfect end to a great inaugural season at WSBC. Our dancers had 16 solo performances (10 classical and 6 contemporary) and danced Descubriendo twice- once for competition and again in the gala.

Friday

Renee Augustyn began rehearsals for a piece choreographed by Garrett Smith for winners of UBC regional competitions.

WSBC dancers participated in master classes in various formats and met Wes Chapman and Roger VanFleteren, master teachers and long-time mentors to WSBC Founding Director, Kyle Seguin.

Gretchen Laurence received an invitation to the company audition.

Saturday

Rehearsals and master classes continued for Junior participants.

Seniors danced beautifully and received high scores in solo classical and contemporary performances.

Sunday

Seniors participated in master classes.

Juniors danced strong and scored high in solo performances.

All WSBC dancers performed Descubriendo in the Grand Prix Finals Gala, alongside professional dancers from leading ballet companies. (Thank you, UBC! This was an unforgettable experience!)
