YAGP Finals 2022

YAGP Finals was a great experience.

  • Every WSBC dancer in the Conservatory competed, performing Kyle Seguin’s Descubriendo.

  • WSBC duet, Oceans and Pearls, placed Top 12.

  • WSBC Senior Soloist Caroline Giltner and Junior Soloist Renee Augustyn performed beautifully, dancing classical variations and contemporary solos by WSBC faculty.

We started off the week with two strong, clean, and confident performances by our Junior Soloist, Renee Augustyn. This was Renee’s first time at Finals and she danced the Etoile Variation from Paquita and Pulling a Thread, choreographed by WSBC Assistant Director, Mariterese Altosino.

Caroline Giltner, our Senior Soloist, danced next. This was Caroline’s first time competing as a senior and her first time at Finals. She danced a variation from Grand Pas Classique and Catch and Fall, choreographed by WSBC Founding Director, Kyle Seguin. Caroline was stunning onstage and handled herself like a pro behind the scenes.

Our Large Ensemble, Descubriendo, was up next. Kyle Seguin choreographed this piece as a vehicle to improve musicality and corps de ballet classical and neoclassical pointe work, and it received incredible feedback regarding creativity, artistry, and execution.

We finished up the week with our duet, Oceans and Pearls, danced by Renee Augustyn and Caroline Giltner, and are elated by our Top 12 placement!

Thank you YAGP for another inspiring experience. Our dancers came home energized and motivated to work hard. And special thanks again to Maan Almodovar for coaching, documenting, and helping tell our story!
